1) Zip or Rar your photos (www.winzip.com/downwz.htm or www.win-rar.com/download.html) to compress them and combine them into one file (not one folder… one file)
2) Rename the “.zip” or “.rar” to contain your name and membership # (Example: I’m Hilary Wilson CA9880-033, my rar’d file full of photos would be HilaryWilson_CA9880033.rar)
3) Go to http://www.sendspace.com/
3) Click the “Browse” button to browse on your computer and find that zip or rar file you just made
4) Put my e-mail address in the “TO” area: eqifelin / AT / gmail / DOT / com
5) Put your e-mail address in the “FROM” area (it just sends you a notification that the file was uploaded & sent)
6) Click the “Upload” button & let the file upload

Note:
- This (sendspace.com) is a free service… Yay!
- However… there is one flaw with this method… the limit to the file-size is 300MB. So, if you have the means, resize your photos to 1024px wide maximum (zip’ing or rar’ing will also compress them a bit too). If not… just send them in batches adding the number to the end of your file name before the extension (Example: HilaryWilson_CA9880033_1 , HilaryWilsonCA9880033_2 , etc)

Award recommendation will be 1 prestige for every 2 photos, with a max of 50 (I believe this has been standard practice for previous CAiNEs), so if you want to be selective and only choose your best 100 photos… that would be absolutely fine If you want to send more than that ’cause you feel that you took more than 100 awesome shots that you want to share with everyone… No worries! Go right ahead! Just ’cause the max prestige is 50 for this… doesn’t mean I won’t put your pics in the “previous CAiNEs” folder for future CAiNEs to post to entice people to visit our AWESOME Canadian convention

First, if you are not already following the CAiNE Twitter account, you really should. Not only will we be tweeting the schedule (with warnings about upcoming events and start time notices), but the twitter team will also be tweeting from the event itself, providing photos, commentary and more, which will make the CAiNE twitter something useful for those attending as well as those who cannot attend. You can find CAiNE 2012 on twitter at http://twitter.com/CAiNE_2012

Second, we will continue on the success of the CAiNE Live Photo Blog. Attendees at CAiNE will be able to send photos that they have taken on their mobile devices and post them to the Live Photo Blog to share with everyone. This will provide diffent perspectives to the members attending, as well as a window into what’s going on for those who won’t be able to attend. You’ll find the Live Photo Blog at http://caine2012.wordpress.com. There won’t be anything there yet, but once March 22nd comes around, you’ll see plenty of posts showing up.

The count-down is on for CAiNE 2012 or at least it is for us locals… we’re biting our nails in anticipation! I, personally, need to start buying up some supplies to make cookies for the Hospitality Suite since I’ve been advertising cookies in Saint John for the past few CAiNE’s. LOL

I’ve received the Masquerade VSS for CAiNE 2012 and it’s been posted HERE

I’ve also updated the map of the convention space as well as the schedule (to reflect the changes on the map). No monumental life-changing adjustments… we were just able to get a larger room in exchange for a smaller one (for no extra charge!) and we were able to gain the use of their ‘coat check/registration’ area for our OOC/IC Registration… oh…and they gave us the nicer Trinity Royal room on Sunday for our Closing Ceremonies instead of using Ballroom C!

Rooms are booking up pretty quickly but, even if they don’t fill up entirely, our Hotel rate (for our block) technically expires 02/15/12 (February 15th 2012).

Just wanted to get that info out there so people are aware
